Build your factor bug

A factor divides the number on your bug with nothing left over. Choose your character and a level to begin.

  1. Put 1 and the bug’s number on the antennae, either way round.
  2. Use pairs of opposite legs for two factors that multiply to the bug’s number. Pairs can go anywhere. Leave spare pairs blank; a prime bug needs no legs.
  3. Square bugs have a tail if friendly, or a stinger if scary. Put the factor that multiplies by itself there.
  4. Press Check my bug when you’re ready. Green means correct; soft pink means try again. When every factor is correct, spare blank legs disappear and your completed bug joins My bugs.

Use each factor once. Click a number once to fill the next empty circle. To choose where it goes, click a circle first. You can also drag numbers; dragging one already on the bug moves it. Click a filled circle to replace it, or use Clear selected circle. Delete or Backspace also empties a focused circle. Completed numbers stay in My bugs and will not return as challenges. When a level is complete, Meet another bug moves to the next unfinished level.

Open My bugs to see the bugs you have completed. Square bugs also appear in Not prime. Once two completed bugs share more than one factor, choose Compare two bugs, find their highest common factor, and check your answer.
